How Many Carrie Prejeans will be at Miss Universe in Russia?

Russian President Valdimir Putin has earned a new name – Putin ‘Czar of Homophobia.’ His new anti-gay law and the increase in homophobic violence has led to calls for sanctions against Russia, from boycotts of Russian vodka to a push for removing the 2014 Winter Olympics from Sochi, on the Black Sea.

Now dubbed the ‘Czar of Homophobia,’ Putin may well find his vice-Czar, albeit for a night, in the form of one time American presidential hopeful, Donald Trump.

Trump is taking his Miss Universe pageant to the streets and stages of homophobic anti-gay Russia, where he will spend his anti-gay capital, accumulated over some years, in the holy land of gay hate.

Since the controversial Carrie Prejean blurted out her bigoted stance on his Miss U.S.A. stage and since his presidential run where he noted that gays should be treated unequally, Trump has been seen as a man who has no regard for his fellow gay Americans and now with Miss Universe headed for Moscow, we can only assume he is fully supportive of the anti-gay propaganda laws which are currently instilling fear in LGBT Russians and visitors alike.

Of his fellow Americans he noted:-

“They should not be able to marry,” said Trump during the Presidential primaries. But asked whether gay couples should be able access the same benefits as married couples, he said his “attitude on it has not been fully formed.” And then a short time later, after a second to think, Trump said on the idea of marriage and on the idea of an inferior civil benefits right, “As of this moment, I would say no and no.”

And so Trump believes that American gays and lesbians are inferior to other Americans, and that LGBT people are not deserving of civil and basic human rights.

With his bevvy of beauties, and his 2013 Miss Universe contest, being held in Moscow this November,  Donald Trump now finally has the perfect stage for bigoted views which he can share with the entire world.

Apparently 88% of Russia is so proud of this new law. I can almost hear the drum roll and imagine the bright lights bouncing off those shimmering bikini clad gals, while a supportive ‘Czar of Homophobia,’ looks on proudly and the announcer belts out  “we are proud to introduce Donald Trump, Vice Czar of our homophobia.”

As it often does, history will repeat itself, except this time we do not need the rhetoric of a Carrie Prejean, when she used the Miss U.S.A. contest for her odious anti-gay views, but rather the mere appearance of the beauties on the Moscow stage will suffice, to endorse the Russian homophobic violence against gays, under the ever so watchful eye of a patron and accomplished Vice Czar. And his Republican friends back home, through their silence, will be patting him on the back “Good job Donald – our  fabulous “Vice Czar of Violent Homophobia” for the night! You make the world a better place!”

I do not have much respect for beauty pageants no matter where they are held – and yet would still suggest, that unless Trump wants to wear this particular crown proudly, that he makes some urgent plans to move his show out of Moscow ASAP!

Oh and then of course Donald, if you would not like to be seen to be supporting LGBT human rights, you can always move the show based on the Snowden debacle. Now there is a good reason for you!
