Mr. Porn Martin Ssempa giving his signature graphic lesson in pornography – no self respecting gay person could begin to imagine what this man conjures up.

Media houses in Uganda, especially tabloids such as The Red Pepper, could be the first toasted under Uganda’s new Anti-Pornography law, passed recently and awaiting President Museveni’s assent. And how about we add Mr. pornography himself, Pastor Martin Ssempa.

Perhaps this is poetic justice because Red Pepper is the tabloid guilty of exposing LGBT perceived people, with photos designed to out them with the prime purpose to cause their persecution.

Minister of Integrity and Ethics and defrocked Priest Fr. Simon Lokodo said, while chomping at the bit, that once the Bill becomes law, then law enforcement would start with media houses that are known to publish and broadcast pornographic material:

“We are going to enforce the law without compromise. So, the moment it commences to be law, the Red Pepper people, the Hello magazine and all their rivals that publish pornographic material will be closed and their editors will be prosecuted, liable to imprisonment for seven years, if they don’t modify their content to be in line with the Anti-Pornography Bill,” he said.

Oh and lest our cherub Minister forget that the first to be arrested really ought to be that vile and putrid gay obsessed gay hater, Martin Ssempa, and his disgusting public porn displays.  He has been on TV with his vulgarity as well as in Church.    Perhaps he will finally have to watch his mouth and graphics. Renowned for his visual denigration of gays, through pornography, in Churches workshops and on TV, this Pastor will have to watch himself, as while he accuses gays of indecency, just by virtue of their existence, he is the one with the potty mouth and he would now be the one breaking the law!

Maybe I do not dislike this law so much. As a human rights advocate I am conflicted. I deplore restrictions on media, yet would love to see Ssempa and Red Pepper take a fall.

The Observer went on to note:

Last week, Parliament passed the Anti-Pornography Act with the objective of restoring public decency. Under section 13, the act states: “A person who produces or participates in the production of, or traffics in, or publishes or broadcasts or procures or imports or exports or in any way abets pornography contrary to subsection (1) commits an offence and is liable on conviction to a fine not exceeding five hundred currency points (Shs 10m) or imprisonment not exceeding seven years or both,” reads clause 13(2) of the bill.

The bill, which repeals Section 166 of the Penal Code Act, defines pornography as any form of behaviour or form of “communication or speech or information or literature or publication in whole or publication in part or news story or entertainment or stage play or broadcast or music or dance or art or graphic or picture or photography or video recording or leisure activity or show or exhibition that depicts a person engaged in explicit sexual activities or conduct, sexual parts of a person such as breast, thighs, buttocks or genitalia, erotic behaviour intended to cause sexual excitement or any indecent act or behaviour tending to corrupt morals. Ugandans actively working to persecute fellow Ugandans – yes here we OUT the criminals current Red Pepper crew

For many years, the Ugandan tabloid, Red Pepper has purposely targeted alleged gay, lesbian and transgender people, outing them in the print magazine, often using pictures accompanied by pervasive rhetoric.    The most recent publication with photos and names, outed alleged gays and lesbians in a print publication dated Sunday February 24, 2013, accusing them, falsely, of the myth of so called “recruitment into the lifestyle of homosexuality.” http://oblogdeeoblogda.me/2013/02/26/outing-red-pepper-owners-and-staff-for-persecution-of-gays-in-uganda/
