Today Scott Lively and Peter LaBarbera announced the formation of their new organization – the Coalition for Family Values – who purpose appears to be to foment homophobia worldwide of the variety currently making headlines in Uganda, Jamaica and Russia. Together this Friday they will hold a press conference to praise Russia’s so-called pro-family laws and to urge other countries to follow Putin’s lead.
Both Lively and LaBarbera head organizations the Southern poverty Law Center designate as hate groups. Scott Lively is currently charged with Crimes Against Humanity for the persecution of Uganda’s LGBT community directly resulting from his actions in Uganda. Of Russia’s recent passage of anti-gay legislation Lively remarked “I indirectly assisted in that and it’s one of the proudest achievements of my career.“
Peter LaBarbara traveled to Jamaica in December to help further whoop up the already raging homophobia there as we reported on OBLOGDEE here. Announcing together their shared joy at the anti-gay legislation recently passed in Russia.
Together with Russia, that is quite the trio of countries those two have visited from which the LGBT community is now currently being forced to flee due to the hate & homophobia left in the wake of Western Evangelicals like the two of them!
Here is the announcement of their Press Conference this Friday in D.C.:
