by Cathy Kristofferson, June 28, 2013 Today 5 same-gender couples applied for marriage licenses in the registry office in the Admiralty Side, a district of St. Petersburg, Russia. Officials at the registry explained that the licenses are only intended for couples of opposite gender and sent them on their way. This is a bold move in […]

Their vote followed last Thursday’s 75 to 59 vote in favor in the Minnesota State House. Seems to be exactly where the Religious Right is digging in these days. By Cathy Kristofferson, May 02, 2013. Two legislative initiatives now underway on Capital Hill greatly underscore the fact that it is the Religious Right who is seeking ‘special rights’ not the LGBT community, as we are so often accused. The Comprehensive Immigration […]

Melanie on Lez Get real:- The very same culprits who passed Proposition 8, with all their Mormon funding, individual hate and corporate dollars threatening yet again, are now flooding the Governor with calls to block the Marriage Recognition and Family Protection Act. Co-sponsored by our colleagues at Equality California and Sen. Mark Leno, SB 54, […]
This is what we need to see more of – We should urge all those who voted for DOMA to now co-sponsor its repeal under the new Respect for Marriage Act introduced this week by Rep. Jerrold Nadler. Proudly changing my position on DOMA (Rep. Earl Blumenauer By Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-Ore.) […]
How the Hate for 8 Hurt my Child… Before the California Court ruled I asserted in my blog “The fate of California’s same-sex marriage hangs in the balance, as the Justices prepare their ruling on the challenges to the validity of Proposition 8.” Now is has ruled and the impact is so egregious that the […]
This token offering is just that; it serves only to highlight what he has NOT done for all the LGBT community
I just received an email addressed probably to all of President Obama’s supporters asking for support on health care. I am not lending my suupport to anything until I get the promised repeal of DOMA. As selfish as it sounds, I am sick of our community being taken for granted. Use us and then abuse […]
Asking our PREZ not to flip flop on his promise to eradicate DOMA. Defense of Marriage Act – TIme up for second class citizen sour tatus – the unconscienable and excruciating changes to constitutions the theft of our inherent rights; the money that funds confusion engendered by dishonest advertisements, of the self proclaimed religious, the claimed ownership of […]
I knew that Ms. California Carie Perjean would have her day; it just came a lot quicker than I anticipated. I do not know if I have this telepathic connection to the” KARMA goddess” or if its simply ‘par for the course,’ but the ‘holier than thou’ antics have indeed ‘ come a croper.’ I […]

Why does Congress put matters of footbal ahead of immigrations equality? I don’t get it. Why is UAFA legislation not on the floor as a priority? I don’t get it!

I am not sure how many more WOW’s I can handle this month! This is another. The synchronicity in my mind is ALL about UAFA (Uniting American Families Act.) My determination to passage for UAFA selfishly limits me this month; so all I can say is one more vote closer to the demise of the Republican filibuster, especially on LGBT […]

Picked up on FANCAST blog:- “This afternoon the Fox network issued a statement saying it will air regular programming Wednesday night instead of President Obama’s 100-day news conference. “The Fox Broadcasting Company will not air the Presidential News Conference on Wednesday, April 29 at 8:00 PM (ET),” Fox said via a carefully worded statement. I do not belief that PROP 8 would have passed had the California voters known that all those adds were funded by the MORMAN CHURCH, via Utah….read on and please comment
The Court has taken the matter as submitted. Prop 8 is on the decision block. It seemed to me by listening to the questions of the esteemed Justices that proposition 8 may go through as valid. I feel despondent. Although I thought Ms. Stewart’s argument was articulate and clear and its jurisprudential profundity seemed to outweigh that of the opponent.
“Last November, 13,402,566 California voters expressed themselves for or against Proposition 8, …
