The twentieth San Francisco Dyke March set off at 6:00 PM Saturday in San Francisco’s Dolores Park, to the traditional roar of hundreds of Dykes on Bikes and the cheers of tens of thousands of lesbians, women, womyn, gender-queers, gender-frees, transgender, men and allies.
The march took place through the streets of the city, while supporters cheered from windows and rooftops waving signs and playing DJ for the jubilant marchers, ending in the Castro with a massive street party.
Traditionally the Dyke March heralds Pride weekend as millions will take to the streets tomorrow for San Francisco Pride parade and festival, with its theme, Global Equality.
