NBC San Francisco police responded Saturday evening to a shooting in the area of United Nations Plaza just as local Pride celebrations were winding down.

Police said two people were taken into custody. One victim was transported to a hospital with a gunshot wound, police said.

Police said they were called to McAllister and Leavenworth streets on a report of shots fired just after 6 p.m., when the event was scheduled to end.

Several suspects were detained on Market Street, police said.

  1. So happy to live in Australia– daily gunviolence/killings/murders in the USA (many by the police!) are truly frightening & the NRA are sickening creatures.
