In support of NCLR, National Center for Lesbian Rights, I am highlighting their program for their summer tour.

NCLR will advocate, legislate and educate, as the case may be – to ensure the rights of the entire LGBTI community.

Hot Off the Presses: The Evolving Marriage Laws

The Kansas Women Attorneys Association’s Lindsborg Conference has operated for more than 20 years and has hosted lawyers and judges from across the country to speak on current events, legal issues, and professional development. During the conference, Ilona Turner, NCLR Staff Attorney, will give a plenary presentation entitled “Hot Off the Presses: The Evolving Marriage Laws,” along with Lana Knedlik. Ilona will discuss the steps various states have taken to protect same-sex couples and their families.

North America Outgames

The North America Outgames includes multi-sport elements supported by the Gay and Lesbian International Sports Association. A key component to the games is the accompanying Human Rights Conference, which provides lectures and discussions about LGBT athletes in sports. This year NCLR Sports Project Director Helen Carroll is teaming up with GLSEN Sports Project Director Pat Griffin to present two workshops during the conference.
