According to LGBTQ Nation, the leader of the Russian anti-gay vigilante group “Occupy Pedophilia,” “who is alleged to have lured LGBT youth to abusive encounters through fake social media profiles, was sentenced Friday to five years in a Russian penal colony.”
We had reported extensively here on OBLOGDEE about Maxim Sergeyevich Martsinkevich’s cruel antics as can be seen below. Referred to as “Tesak”, Maxim was convicted of “inciting and fomenting cases of extremism by posting videos on the “Vkontakte” (VK.com) social network that contained racial slurs and extremist opinions on Russia’s state of the union, reports Interfax,” notes LGBTQ Nation.
Maxim also came onto the comments section of Oblogdee several times with such vulgarity that we never allowed the past moderation. We did however ourselves indulge in a few spoof articles about him.
However, given this sentence, it is interesting to note that justice may not have been served for some victims. While 5 years seem hardly enough given the extent and ramification of all that Maxim is believed to have participated in or with regard to what he may have directly ordered his henchmen to do.
Videos containing anti-gay statements and abuse, as reported here on OBLOGDEE, were not included in the prosecutor’s case against him. Maybe some fresh cases need to be brought against him to add to his convictions and sentence.
It is indeed sweet to note that he will be doing time, albeit for reasons that best suite the Russian Putin Regime agenda. Though some would rather justice had been served in the name of LGBT persecution, it is unlikely that the Russian prosecutors would have pursued such, given the signature sentiment of anti-gay-promotion.
As noted in LGBTQ Nation:
Martsinkevich rose to international attention last year when his group began posting videos on VK.com and YouTube, documenting violent and homophobic harassment of men and gay youth the group claims were seeking to have sex with boys.
Amid outrage by international Human Rights groups and the prosecutor’s office in what was then Sevastopol, Ukraine (which sought to arrest him for crimes against a young male adult citizen of Ukraine) Martsinkevich fled to Cuba in December 2013, but was arrested and extradited for breaking Cuban immigration law in January.
Meanwhile, other members of “Occupy Paedophilia” are currently awaiting trial for their participation in anti-gay crimes. According to the prosecutor’s office in the Kamensk-Uralsky region, a court on August 8 approved the indictment in a criminal case against nine members of the group.
