Members of the Congressional Black Caucus and Planned Parenthood Patients Hold Press Conference to Underscore Planned Parenthood’s Vital Work in African American Communities
Posted by Melanie Nathan, September 25, 2015.
Washington, D.C. – In the face of a looming government shutdown, Congresswoman Gwen Moore (WI-04), Congresswoman Donna Edwards (MD-04), and Congresswoman Alma Adams (NC-12), will join patients of Planned Parenthood on Capitol Hill to promote Planned Parenthood’s critical work in African American and low-income communities across the country.
In addition to Members of Congress, reporters will have the chance to hear from patients who depend on Planned Parenthood for their vital reproductive and sexual health care services. These patients will share their stories – many of which are raw and personal – and describe the unique obstacles women of color encounter in accessing safe, legal abortions and other reproductive health services.
Members of the Congressional Black Caucus and patients unite for a special press conference in support of Planned Parenthood.
