“Cathy, I want to tell you I’m shaking and I have a bad taste in my mouth. Just repulsed. A shower will not help.”

Late last night, The World Congress of Families Symposium “Family Policy Lessons from Other Lands : What should America Learn?” was denied their original meeting location in the U.S. Senate Dirksen Building by their sponsor Senator Mark Kirk (R-IL) once word got out. Despite the exposure of their so-called “pro-family” purpose, they still met on U.S. Capital soil over in the Longworth House building. Photos from inside show lots of grey hair and plenty of empty chairs.
Buzzfeed reported earlier their new location is thanks to House Speaker Boehner (R-OH):
WASHINGTON — The office of House Speaker John Boehner secured meeting space for the World Congress of Families after their original sponsor, Illinois Senator Mark Kirk, canceled their space in a Senate office building following an outcry from LGBT activists, the group’s leader said.
As OBLOGDEE posted yesterday, the symposium seeks to laud the recent advances in so-called “pro-family” Russian legislation to see how those laws – banning gay propaganda, gay adoptions, gay foreigners, gay NGOs, etc. – can be applied here in the United States. And by “applied” I, of course, mean exported to and then imported back by their original sponsors.
We will have a follow-up post shortly after our friend, Ellen Sturtz, who bravely attended the hatefest, I mean symposium, has the shower and whatever else she so badly needs!
