Praying For Gay Ugandan Richard to Win Asylum Appeal

Out and Proud Diamond Group and Richard M Asylum Seeker in the UK.

United Kingdom – Richard M. is a young Ugandan man who fled Uganda after being outed by Red Pepper Magazine. He was apparently falsely accused of promoting homosexuality in the schools. His subsequent asylum journey has been a typical roundabout of hell, exacerbating his abuse.

On arrival in the United Kingdom, instead of welcoming & protecting him, he was sent to detention center, and although his wounds were fresh, was accused of lying about his story.  This is an all too familiar stance, taken by the Home Office, all too often when it comes to LGBT asylum seekers.

According to Richard, while he was in detention, he contacted the UK Lesbian & Gay Immigration Group for support, UKLGIG  which is supposed to help LGBTI asylum seekers in the UK.  The UKGIG responded that they could not visit or help Richard because he was in detention and that was something they do not do. (We have not independently verified this with UKLGIG, at this time.)

According to activists in the United Kingdom this is a similar stance to he Medical Foundation for Care of Victims of Torture who support gay asylum seekers as long as they are not detained for an indefinite period of time. (The latter usually the case because lengths of detentions are unknown.)

Richard managed to get out of detention with the assistance of unfunded grassroots activists. Unfortunately, Richard’s case was dismissed. He appealed against the UK decision. After a long wait (over 2yrs) his appeal was listed and will be heard tomorrow, 8th Oct 2014.
While in limbo waiting, Richard joined the extraordinary Diaspora African LGBTI grassroots group, Out and Proud Diamond Groups (OPDG).
Abbey Kiwah an OPDG activist notes:
“I had a chance to speak to this young man and basically get to know him well. His story is no different from many shocking stories I have come across.

I will give evidence in regards to Richard’s case. I am aware the so called organisations which are put there to help people like Richard don’t,  but rather use people like him to get funding. I will be accompanied by OPDG activists as we collectively believe that Richard’s blood is our blood and his enemies are our enemies. We know the victory is ours so help us God.”

Unfortunately what Abbey says is proving to be a common complaint in Europe, the UK and also the United States, amongst Asylum seekers and refugees, who often feel used and tossed aside by organizations who put them on display for speeches and story telling, using events that showcase these often traumatized LGBTI people for organizational fund raising.  And all the while these very organizations have no regard toward the humanitarian needs of such LGBTI people. The benefit they receive from such organizations are rarely commensurate with the extent to which they are “used” by these groups.
Right now the members of OPDG, many of whom are devout i their faith are asking for your prayers and awareness to treat LGBTI asylees with sensitivity and care they so badly need.

The LGBT citizens need a list of these hypocritical organizations. Their monetary collections used upon themselves is BLOOD money. They are no better than those Christians who preach the Bible, but do not following the actions of Christ. What one sows, so shall they reap.

If he’s not happy with the way he’s being “welcomed” in the UK, why doesn’t he “flee” to some other country.

    • Melanie Nathan October 8, 2014 at 1:04 PM #

Angus why dont you find some decency – the UK has a legal obligation under asylum laws to follow them – too bad your idea of citizenry is one that condones abuse,.

      • Angus McKay October 8, 2014 at 5:15 PM #

Melanie, why don’t you find some sense – the UK doesn’t believe his story therefore the UK has no “obligation” to him under asylum laws or any other laws – my idea of citizenry does not condone abuse nor does my idea of UK citizenry grant asylum or citizenship to those who pleas for such have been judged to have no merit.

Angus do a search of my site and you will see how many articles I have written about lesbians who were deported -one even died as a result – because the UK authorities did not believe they were lesbians. Most cases that have come my way, where people are not believed, have been turned around on appeal, more often than not highlighting the glaring mistakes and idiotic fumbling of the officers and adjudicators making these decisions.

What officers do not understand is that traumatized people from other cultures will not deliver the answers using the language or in the way they would like to hear. So for you to assume that the governing authority is ‘ALWAYS right’ is simply incorrect. Most often the judgments have been turned around on appeal and officers have been proven to be wrong.

So for you to tell him to flee somewhere else denies due process, presumes authorities to be correct, when often they are wrong, and also presumes that this man can simply whip a few thousand pounds out of his ear to toodle off elsewhere.

People are not given tickets to anywhere else other than back to the country where they were persecuted – so sad to say your remark is offensive and somewhat unschooled.

          • Angus McKay October 9, 2014 at 9:21 AM #

Melanie, I have no interest in doing a search of your site, such a search would merely confirm that which I already know – you believe that anyone from anywhere can set foot in the UK, claim asylum, and be admitted, permanently, without question. The UK has a process whereby those seeking asylum are given opportunity to state their case for living in this country. Asylum seekers are given the opportunity to state their case, often more than once, legally to the courts who are tasked with the decision as to whether the applicant has the right to stay in the UK. If the outcome is they have no right or have made no case to stay in this country then they must be deported. We know most cases are turned round on appeal – not because the original decision was wrong, but because the Home Office backs down to pressure from the failed seeker’s supporters. I “assume” the Home Office verdict is always right because I support the democratic laws of the UK.

“He” was able to “whip a few thousand pounds out of his ear to toodle” over here, and if his remaining few thousand pounds are now spent and he’s living via the UK taxpayer, our Home Office will gladly book his seat on his flight home ’plane – all free to him, paid for by the UK taxpayer. As you yourself concede “People are not given tickets to anywhere else other than back to the country” -countries to which our legal arbiters have decided he was not being persecuted – so sad, but not unexpected, your reply is both biased and deluded.

Jackie Nanyonjo didn’t die as a result of being persecuted for being a lesbian – she died from an illness – nothing to do with her and yours supposed persecution. The UK is not responsible for the way in which Uganda runs its health service, if Uganda fails to us our foreign aid on their health service – not our problem. You and yours have sought to lay the blame at the hands of the UK with an agenda to use her death “one even died as a result” – not so, the UK is not responsible.

As you obviously believe “His subsequent asylum journey has been a typical roundabout of hell, exacerbating his abuse. On arrival in the United Kingdom, instead of welcoming & protecting him, he was sent to detention center, and although his wounds were fresh, was accused of lying about his story. This is an all too familiar stance, taken by the Home Office, all too often when it comes to LGBT asylum seekers.” then surely it would be more productive and supportive of you to inform would be asylum seekers NOT to choose the UK as their host country but to go elsewhere.

              1. Jackie would not have died but for the deportation and maltreatment at the hands of the officer son the plane/ SO in the end when all is said and done many of us believe the UK was fully complicit in her death, And yes thersa May is fully responsible. That is why 100’s of people protested and called for her resignation. Had she been allowed to stay in UK she would ahve been alive today. End of story.

              2. You obviously did read my blog

              3. You fail to acknowledge the hundreds of cases where the UK authorities have heard the reports and refused to believe people where the UK was later proven to be WRONG!
              4. I have been writing reports to help people get asylum in the UK for the past 5 years. I know what I have had to address – IN EACH INSTANCE WE WON THE APPEAL> I HAVE 100% success rate. That is after the idiots have tried to reject or deport – proving buddy you are DEAD wrong!

I have seen the mistakes and fumbling of UK officials – some are so ridiculous in how they try and get people to prove they are gay – its untenable. And then when people dont say things the way their English brain wants to hear it, they cut them off from asylum. They end up easting time and money instead of just opening their hearts and HEADS in the first place. Why because they have your mentality – to reject those who need safe haven.

You are a moron to think that more money can be had by people who have run with the shirt on their backs – a one time shot to get somewhere for asylum. How do expect people to go ‘elsewhere’ and in case you cannot read small print here it is bigger – because I have said this before : THE UK DOES NOT GIVE A TICKET TO ELSEWHERE THEY DEPORT TO ORIGINATING COUNTRY –

I will continue to provide my free services to anyone in the United Kingdom who needs a back up report who I believe to ahve a legitimate case for asylum. I will continue to encourage people as much as they need it – that the UK as hard as it is, ultimately sees the light when cases are properly handled and people get good representation.

              • Angus McKay October 9, 2014 at 5:32 PM #

                1. Jackie would not have died if she had stayed put in her own country instead of selecting the UK as the country she intended living off. Neither Uganda nor the UK and most certainly not Theresa May is responsible for the death. Melanie Nathan and those (you?) who encourage such to seek asylum are responsible. 100’s? 1,000’s? – usual bunch of deluded fools who shout, scream and protest whenever some failed, bogus supposed asylum seeker is exposed. End of fact.

                2. No, I didn’t read your blog, I googled “lesbian asylum seeker dies in Uganda” that’s where I got the true background story of Jackie Nanyonjo – not the garbage you’re peddling.

                3. The UK isn’t proven to be wrong, the UK gives in too easily, sometimes they don’t even bother to turn up for an appeal. Westminster is having to listen to UK citizens and hopefully those such as “he” aka “Richard M” will be deported almost on landing in the UK – no appeals.

                4. You are the type of person who, unfortunately, for the time being, the UK fails to address. YOU are the idiot, you are merely adding to the UK’s ever burgeoning build-up of assorted bogus asylum seekers and refugees – ‘‘buddy’’ time you were keeping your nose out of UK affairs, stick to the problems in your own chosen adopted country of the USA, better still, why not return to your own country or Uganda and conduct your “human rights” campaign from there? Scared to get your hands dirty? Scared to leave your nice, comfortable central-heated office?

How much, moron, are you earning out of your little money-making scheme? How much are you skimming out of the UK asylum industry? ’course they have money when they do a runner from their own countries but they don’t declare such to the UK authorities, but lucky for you – you’ll soon have that and the shirts off their backs for your worthless advice. It’s never a one time shot for them, they’ll be back again and again – wandering nomads, asylum shopping. And yes, I know the UK deports them to the country they claim they fled from, where else moron, do you expect them to be deported, some other country? Problem is, many of your asylum seekers lie with regard to their countries of origin – all part of their devious little plan to sabotage their deportation and be unfortunately returned to the UK.

Of course you will continue to provide your free (lol) con to anyone in the United Kingdom who needs an eleventh hour back up report to add to their false case claim for asylum. You will continue to encourage people as much as they need it so you can get your hands on the shirt off their backs. That UK, that wonderful, kind and caring UK to where all your little failures flee to take advantage, together with yourself until, as welcoming as it is, ultimately sees the light and dumps you and your failures.

HA! Now thats more like it the real Angus Mckay (!) unravels. reveals hos true colors. I am not olioged to put up these moderated comments but cannot resist it when people flail! Very revealing Angus my fearful fiend. I mean Friend – So you are one of those racist bigots who just wont say so in that many words. You believe everyone is lying – even though you know shitall about their cases – even though you have never met one of them – you of course know this all for sure,.
Terribly terribly amused at all your falsities and assumptions- but anything you can do IO can better tra lala… yes I can … tra lala ..yes I can…(singing) . This is an opportunity for me to let you know that I do not make a single cent doing advocacy or asylum work. ALl free buddy all free, So pray tell me the benefit of my “con”! Every ad on my BLOG is free. In fact I lose a LOT of money doing what I do. So what is the big advantage? You just cannot imagine a decent human being who cares about people all around the globe – regardless of where and what right? That is not very ENGLISH of me now is it.

I also try to discourage people form leaving their countries unless they absolutely have to – to escape homophobes and persecution and government supported homophobia. I usually tell people about arse-holes like you – waiting with open fists on the otherside of the world- not willing to show an iota of humanity- not willing to fork out an ounce of compassion or a dime .
You probably would turn Ann Frank down if she contacted you via internet ad said help I am being hunted by Nazi’s get me out of here. I have no doubt you are bred from those who turned Jews away too. Of all this I have no doubt. No I never make assumptions about anyone – of this I am sure (HA!)

                • Melanie Nathan October 9, 2014 at 7:47 PM #

No one encouraged Jackie to seek asylum -except her her persecutory circumstances did. The fact that she is hounded by people like you – homophobes and bigots – and that includes many of your fellow Englishmen who chose to misjudge her…yes you killed her Angus – your country as good as put a bullet through her head. I am not he only one who believes that. Had she stayed in Uganda she may well have been shot or beaten like a few others I can name. SO she came to the United Kingdom and you did not allow her to stay. You restrained her forcefully and deported her. Face the truth Angus. Had the UK allowed her to stay she would be fine and alive.

Everything you have said serves as evidence of the mentality of you and your type. Take a look at your own working and shenanigans Angus I know who you are.

              • Angus McKay October 10, 2014 at 12:55 PM #

“HA!” – so you’ve tried to block my replies – blatant evidence of someone who hasn’t the intelligence to offer credible debate.

All rhetoric “evidence of the mentality” of the uneducated, frustrated ranting of a mickey mouse, human rights fraud – unable to present a credible counter debate …

“Angus my fearful fiend / you are one of those racist bigots / you know shitall about their cases / homophobes and persecution and government supported homophobia / tell people about arse-holes like you – waiting with open fists on the otherside of the worl / I have no doubt you are bred from those who turned Jews away too / she is hounded by people like you – homophobes and bigots – and that includes many of your fellow Englishmen / yes you killed her Angus – your country as good as put a bullet through her head”.

from the infantile mind of Melanie …
“anything you can do IO can better tra lala… yes I can … tra lala ..yes I can…(singing)”

Seriously Angus. Where did I TRY TO block your reply. I can block each and every reply if I so choose. But I have let them all up so people can get w whif of your odious thinking. Are you unable to read. Unless it landed in SPAM every one of your replies has been moderated and approved, as hateful as they are – I moderate each one personally. If you are in another time zone , I am certainly not going to wake up at at all hours to approve it. So sometimes you will wait the 8 hours while I sleep and while you have day time. …

                • Angus McKay October 11, 2014 at 5:04 PM #

When? – when you chose not to leave your “reply button” at the end of your comments – haven’t you noticed. Not so, I am exposing your odious, unhealthy thoughts, here they are again … “Angus my fearful fiend / you are one of those racist bigots / you know shitall about their cases / homophobes and persecution and government supported homophobia / tell people about arse-holes like you – waiting with open fists on the otherside of the worl / I have no doubt you are bred from those who turned Jews away too / she is hounded by people like you – homophobes and bigots – and that includes many of your fellow Englishmen / yes you killed her Angus – your country as good as put a bullet through her head” … and … from the infantile mind of Melanie … “anything you can do IO can better tra lala… yes I can … tra lala ..yes I can…(singing)” I doubt if many people will be reading either of us, your blog has, understandably, few followers, regardless of your time zones.

LOL seriously Angus – All you can do is repeat and repeat? I am well known for my awful typing as I only have 2 fingers – that I use – and I dont take time to correct – so not bothered with peeeeps like you. . But you can mock thats ok. Maybe I will start typing with my left foot. People can read they dont need you to repost my responses. But thanks anyway. Please keep coming back you are amusing me not angering me.

I wish I could control WordPress and leaving reply buttons or not. Alas, I am not THAT savvy. I am not sure if there is a glich or if there is not meant to be a reply button but I will certainly check with WordPress – I have zero control of their templates. Thanks for pointing that out I will check it. In the meantime take this as notoice that I am bored with your inane responses that fail to take the conversation further. So after this comment I will probably NOT be putting any further of your comments up, unless you have something worthwhile and new to add to a conversation. Happy Life Angus!

Jacky Nanyonjo encouraged herself to seek asylum in the UK – encouraged by your type and from the stories she had read from other asylum seekers of how easy it was to con the UK into giving them their all free asylum package. She conned her way into the UK and lived all free for five years – when she was officially informed her asylum claim was a load of tosh and she was to lose her all free asylum package – she panicked. She panicked, because unlike yourself, Jacky Nanyonjo hadn’t been able to find herself some mickey mouse human right “charity” where she could receive taxpayers’ money.

Thankfully, even although she did the usual and screamed, shouted and wrestled with our noble immigration officers, they persisted and deported her back to her Kampala.

Well done to all who carried out the deportation. Well done to Theresa May, UKBA and our Home Office who did not give in to the mob protestors, many who live all free in our kind, generous asylum system but revert to character by their ungrateful moaning, moaning, moaning. By deporting Jacky Nanyonjo we saved our NHS money and time. Well done to all who carried out the deportation – I salute you all. Do not bother about the lies made against you, those lies are merely the frustrated, infantile tactics of the asylum seeking mob and their supporters.

hehehe “encouraged herself” Now how the heck does one encourage themselves. Angus Angus Angus! Again you reveal your hateful self. When are you going to stop allowing me to goad you to keep coming back to keep making an ass of yourself.??More sport! When Oh When? And pray tell what Mickey Mouse Human Right charity do i depend on? You dont seem to be able to read. I dont have a charity that pays me. I dont get paid. Is that so hard to grasp?

I p[lan on changing that soon though – do you ahve any Mickey Mouse charities you can recommend to me please?
