While others pay another visit to Scott Lively…
By Cathy Kristofferson, February 24, 2014
Today in Washington D.C. and Springfield, MA – and many other locales worldwide we hope! – activists reacted to this morning’s signing of Uganda’s Anti-Homosexuality Bill, better known as Kill The Gays, by President Museveni with action.
An eviction notice was served in D.C. suggesting useful re-purposing of Ambassador Wonekha and her Embassy staff as follows:
“To go home to Uganda and work tirelessly for human rights for all Ugandans, including the kuchu community, to mitigate any violence and persecution resulting from this new unjust law, and to work for the law’s repeal.”
We hope she got the point. We saw her reading the notice, though she walked away instead of responding to our request to talk. We will return if our notice is ignored.
We have full faith in the Ugandan LGBTI (kuchu) community and their intentions to immediately bring suit for the law’s unconstitutionality. Until then, Ambassador Wonekha and her staff should head home and do what they can to protect her fellow Ugandans, our lesbian, gay, bi, trans, intersex and fabulously queer brothers and sisters, from the wrath the law will unleash upon an undeserving community.
In Springfield, a visit to Scott Lively’s Coffee House found that he had vacated the premises leaving us just two mind-numbing kool-aid drinking converts. There we held signs to the commuter traffic, passed out flyers to passersby and all the cars we could hit on every red light.
We went to Lively’s Coffee House hoping to deliver a WANTED poster “for the annihilation of LGBTQ people worldwide” for the homophobic trio of Lively, Warren and Engle, but were disappointed to find the CLOSED sign in the window and the door locked.
In response to the assent into law of the Kill The Gays Bill, we urge the United States State Department to immediately revoke the passports of these hatemongers and their many cohorts here in this country. Whether it is fighting against our lives, our rights, our protections, or for their right to discriminate masqueraded as religious liberty these Evangelicals need to be served notice that their hate will not be tolerated.
They are more than welcome to their religious freedom, right up to the point that they use it as a weapon to harm us.
Lively’s new Coalition of Family Values, launched Friday and reported here on OBLOGDEE, intends to do just that – to fight against the LGBT community in any country willing to listen to their vile lies, hate and homophobia. The least the State Department can do is stop their travel and force them to use Skype!
Also we urge the U.S., U.K., Canada and all EU countries to put in place emergency means by which the Ugandan LGBT community can safely flee the heightened persecution that is now their everyday life. Gaining immediate asylum or refugee status in welcoming and safe countries is not something we should drag our feet on. Leaving their home is not ideal. But staying alive is better than the death sentence issued today by President Museveni.

At least we can throw them out of the country for their human irights violations. There must be a zero tolerance for their hatemongering violence against people they don’t like. Those African countires are lliving in the 12th century or beyond, and don’t deserve to be in the communities of mankind!
Excellent!!!
